women’s walk across america
Folks across the country are fed up.
Reproductive and gender affirming care are under attack. The “SAVE America Act” would jeopardize the voting rights of millions. Along with myriad other horrific actions (Iran and Palestine) or non-actions (Epstein Files) that continue to erode our democracy.
One group of women is turning that fear, frustration, and exhaustion into action. A grassroots movement has begun in Salem, Oregon, and will end on the steps of the United States Capitol in Washington, DC. These women, along with volunteers, are walking across America to show the federal government that they will not be silenced or ignored.
Women’s Walk Across America (WWAA) has multiple relay points set across various states on its walk to Washington. Volunteers can sign up to walk for a day or a section, or to provide security, lodging, or meals for walkers.
WWAA is currently making its way across Central Oregon, having stopped in Redmond on April 10th and now continuing to the next major stop in Boise, ID.
